Awards Marketing Brief 2008

 Title:              

Reading Pubwatch and Evening Post Bar & Pub Awards 2008

Aim:               

To promote the Reading evening economy by highlighting the exciting offering  from  licensed  premises and their team members

Objective:       

To provide Evening Post readers an opportunity to vote for their favourite venue

To nominate the most fun, enthusiastic and service orientated bar tender           

To recognise extra-ordinary service or assistance from a door supervisor

Categories:

Best Dance Venue

  • The venue that provides the most exciting dance  atmosphere
  • Consistently has a great line up of DJ’s
  • Operates quality events

Best Live Music Venue

  • The venue that offers regular live music gigs
  • Provides a varied line-up of musicians
  • Provides opportunity for local bands/musicians to play

Best Traditional Pub

  • Provides warm hospitality and service
  • Will offer a range of traditional ales in its portfolio of drinks
  • This category will have a separate award for each of the five Pubwatch Areas:
      • Caversham
      • Tilehurst
      • West Reading
      • Town Centre
      • South and East Reading

Bar Personality of Reading

  • The bar tender who is always friendly to customers
  • Has a bubbly personality
  • Who is knowledgeable  about dinks and food

Mechanics

1)      The Evening Post will give daily coverage to the competition and provide nomination forms for  its readers to nominate their favourites and the reason why.

2)      The nomination forms will be sent to the Evening Post.

3)      The votes will be counted, and a short list of the top five will be identified.

4)      The top five nominees in each category will be forwarded to the judging panel who will adjudicate and rank the top five based on their experience and the reasons provided for the nominations.

5)      The nominees for the bar personality will be visited by the judges or their deputies at the bar tenders establishment.
