THE Reading PubWatch Awards are back!
All that’s best in the town’s bars, beers, bar staff and live music will be recognised in the second year of the prestigious Evening Post-sponsored accolades.

But first we need your help in deciding a shortlist of candidates for each of the four categories – and there’s a bottle of bubbly in it for you too.

Votes will be counted and a trio of judges will pick the winners, who will be presented with a trophy and certificate at a glitzy charity dinner-dance event in Jongleurs in Friar Street, on Wednesday, February 27.
The awards celebrate all the hard work licensees have made to raise the standards of pubs, clubs and bars in the town.

Last year saw more than 100 nominations put forward for the awards and winners included Bar Mango for best dance venue, The Fox and Hounds for best traditional pub and Craig Bartlett of the Purple Turtle for best personality.

Reading town centre PubWatch secretary Bill Donne said: “Across Reading there is a wide range of pubs, clubs and bars offering first class hospitality, food and entertainment that reflects the vibrancy of the Reading economy.
“There are some excellent staff working in the licensing industry who are friendly and give great service to customers. “Within Reading there are many outlets offering great entertainment in dance music and live bands.
PubWatch wishes to recognise these venues that aspire to be the best in town and in conjunction with the Evening Post wants to offer readers the opportunity to nominate their favourite pub, entertainment outlet or bar, into the competition.”

Bars that have successfully completed a Bar Accreditation Scheme being run in the town will also receive their awards at the dinner dance, which will raise money for two local charities yet to be named.
The accreditation will include a separate competition for door staff.

By nominating you’ll be entered into a prize draw for a bottle of champagne, and you’ll see nominated bars and people feature regularly in the Evening Post in the run-up to the awards night.

To make a nomination simply fill in the form on this page to PubWatch Awards Evening Post, 8 Tessa Road, Reading, RG1 8NS.

Hey Stuart,

The link is as follows:

http://www.getreading.co.uk/ContentResources/588.$plit/C_67_article_2020242_binaryitems_binaryitemsitem_0_binaryitemitem.pdf

This is a pdf file that needs to be printed and posted.
Could you please let me know, whether it is possible to do via email as this would be far easier?

Thanks,
